out of character rules
001. Respect. This should come as pretty much second nature if you're old enough to be going online. Don't mouth off to those around you, don't ignore or harass other members, generally, use some common sense when speaking with others. If it's not something you would like done to yourself, don't inflict it upon others.
002. OOC accounts are for staff only. There should only be one character per account. For example, Billy Joe's character is Mary Jane. He would not register as Billy Joe, then post as Mary Jane, or have an account for Mary Jane and himself. He would register as 'Mary Jane' and nothing else. If he decides to make a new character, he'll make a new account. Accounts should be reigstered as (Rank) Firstname Lastname. If your rank is too long, or you'd rather not add the rank, Firstname Lastname is fine.
003. Swearing is allowed, but keep it to an acceptable level. You are not a rapper, so don't drop the f-bomb every three seconds, although it can be tempting for sure. Insulting others will get you banned, enough said. Racial slurs, derogatory names, anything of the sort will not be tolerated.
004. It may be tempting to change your username in the cbox to something witty/funny/awesome every once in a while, but constantly changing your cbox username makes it quite confusing for people trying to track you down and talk to you. I know I don't have the best memory, why make it harder on everyone to remember your pretty face?
005. If you feel like you are being harassed or put down by a staff member, please deal with it in a mature matter. This site is for the members; please never feel afraid to bring something up that's troubling you. Tell another staff member about how you feel, and there will most certainly be a staff discussion about the issue.
006. When it comes to issues with other members, try to sort it out in a diplomatic manner. Not everyone's going to like you, you're not going to like anyone. If it begins to interfere with the enjoyment of others, you may get banned. It's unfortunate, but there's enough drama in real life; why drag it onto a place designed to be an area for venting and escape? Do not take things into your own hands. Tell someone about it.
007. The staff are perfectly capable of doing their jobs. We appreciate the help when it's needed, but hounding us for authority won't get you anywhere. Micromanagement and asskissing is the fast lane to getting in the administrator's bad books. Trust me honey, that won't help you get any closer to anyone.
008. Don't stretch the goddamn board. Anna is a bit of a nazi about this. No one likes a stretched board. We understand your character may be irresistibly gorgeous, but he/she does not have a face that warrants warping of the pretty skin.
009. Any graphics that stretch the board will be either taken down or resized. This also involves icons and signatures. Your signature should be relative to your post size; in other words, it should never be bigger than your in-character posts. It should also not be an eyesore. Avatars should be in portrait form, no wider than 150 pixels, no higher than 300 pixels. Anna would love to make you some pretty graphics if need be.
010. Suggestions will be considered seriously. Complaints will not. 'I don't like this because I don't like it!' is not a valid reason for anything, ever. If there's something on the forum you think could be improved, let an administrator know, but don't be an asshat about it.
Any questions may be brought up in the cbox or pmed to a staff member.
