in character rules
001. Please don't be a dummy. No one likes godmodding, powerplaying, Gary Stus or Mary Sues. Write with a purpose, write with passion! Unoriginal characters are no fun to write with, and no fun to write for.
002. The Proboards TOS has changed significantly over the past couple of years. Due to these changes, we ask that content posted in the forum never leaves a PG-13 rating. The administrators don't want this place taken down, you shouldn't either! If you have the burning urge to rp something graphic, fade to black in the thread and do so via private message.
003. That being said, anything of an overly mature nature in a post may be edited out without warning. However, this does not mean you have to go through everything with a fine-toothed comb. You can reference things, but please do not describe that in detail. Save that for 'private time'. PMs, preferably.
004. This site does not turn away certain levels of roleplayers. All levels are accepted, however it is expected that you'd be able to keep pace with whoever you're roleplaying with. If you ever need tips or critique on your posting skills, one of the admins would be glad to help. We're all constantly improving our writing skills, so don't be nervous.
005. Keep your post size appropriate. If someone writes you 3 paragraphs, try to mirror that 3 paragraphs. Don't write a novel if Sally is sitting in her kitchen, looking out the window. Detail is awesome, but the mantra of this place is quality over quantity. Brick walls of words rarely make for good posts, unless the situation warrants as such.
006. You are allowed to be in more than one thread at a time, however, try to keep some sort of chronological order in what you post. For example, if Jim Bob got shot in the foot in one thread, he's not going to be running a marathon in the next thread he participates in.This being said, try not to get yourself in over your head
007. Be honest with your muse. Don't force a bad post for someone. We all have those spaces of time in which inspiration is almost painful to bring up. Let the other person know; don't simply ignore them. this works both ways. Be patient, and please, don't pester people for replies.
008. Literacy, people! No one wants to have to fight to understand what you're saying. Please use a spellchecker- browsers such as Chrome have one built in- and re-read your posts for grammar mistakes. It can be very frustrating to have to read the same mistakes over and over again.
009. Note that this site does not allow vault dwellers. In the Mojave, there were no vault societies that have lasted long enough for that to be possible. The only characters that should be even vaguely linked to vaults are those in the Boomers, as they are descendants of those in Vault 34.
010. PLEASE use a face claim for your character. It can be any sort of human being you'd like it to be, politician, actor, singer, what have you. Anime or hand drawn images are not acceptable, except for in the case of the severely disfigured/super mutants/ghouls.
Any questions may be brought up in the cbox or pmed to a staff member.
