Finally...after sometime Nina was able to sneak off and go about on her own way. Sure the old man was just trying to keep her safe...but he could be waaaaay to over bearing for her likes. She enjoyed the feel of exploring a new area alone. She took in the wreckage and ruin around her somehow finding beauty in it here and there. Nina stopped to climb up a pile of rubble and take a good look around. She hummed as looked up the rusted tower and dared to climb a bit higher. She sighed satisfied with the height and looked about the landscape. Not bad at all. Some of the lights were lit already. "Yep. I think I'm gonna like being here." The wind was playfully blowing through her hair as she settled comfortablly on her perch. There was a creaking in the metal she was clinging to. She froze as it all jerked suddenly making her cling harder. She cursed to herself trying to spot where the weak points where. "Oh this is great...I just had to get higher." The tower jerked again as she grimaced and climbed down a bit faster. A loud groan from the metal as the tower started to fall over. Sometimes Nina had this thing of her curiosity over riding her common sense...as with normal people, they would have SEEN the tower was badly rusted and leaning...TOTALLY obvious that it was gonna fall over at some point. Nina? All she saw was something to climb and get an idea of the layout. She clung to the bar as it slowly fell over. At least it didn't just break totally and drop her down...She was able to drop to the ground and roll to break her fall...the tower however...almost had good aim. She curled tightly in a ball as the heavy metal tower fell over making quite a racket...

Today was a good day. There had been no fights for the day (so far anyhow), things were going smoothly and the haul of caps so far from his various games offered were still on the rise. It was good to know, despite what had taken place in the Strip those some odd years ago, people still wanted to come and waste both their time and funds at his casino. He retired to his room for the day, choosing to sit by his window to enjoy the view in the highest room the casino had. He admired the sight of the Strip when suddenly someone seemingly climbed by. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait a minute.
SOMEONE?! How in the hell....? Someone in security was getting a talking to!
Charles left his room and headed for the door that lead to the roof, pulling the door open, wincing a little as the hot air of the mojave hit him in the face. He dug into his pocket and retrieved his glasses, placing them on his face and headed out onto the roof. He headed around to the front of his casino, glancing up now and then as he did to try and spot who it was. It was about then he heard the creaking of metal and his face changed as he noticed the tower that held the Tops sign proudly falling over. He could only gasp and stare in horror and by then, the entire Strip was in a panic at the tower falling into the center of the walkway.
Charles rushed over, leaning over the railing, still in shock and horror, to survey the scene. As far as he could tell, no one was hurt and his men were already swarming the scene. "I want everyone who's free creating a barrier pronto and an emissary scouting for someone who can fix this damn thing! Caps is of no concern!" He ordered, the men scattering to carry them out.
He headed back inside, entered the elevator and took it down to the first floor. When the doors opened, someone was already waiting there for him.
"Sir? There's a woman in the wreckage." "You're kidding. Is she okay?"
"So far boss. Got a couple men digging her out. She should hopefully be free by the time we reach 'em." Charles could only shake his head and wonder if it was the person he had spied climbing up his bedroom window. "Good 'cuz she's got some explaining to do." [/blockquote][/blockquote] CREDIT SAM !? of Confronting the Faceless. Don't remove the credit or I will find you. Nina coughed at the dust that got stirred up. Well at least she didn't get hurt. That could have ended VERY badly. "...This is great...I get here and the first thing I do is break something..." She cursed as she looked around hearing people before poking her head up to peek over. She shrank back down..great...Looking about she found a way to crawl out and slink away unnoticed... She would be reminding herself to resist climbing on things that have good views, unless they were MEANT to be climbed. Knowing this...she was gonna have to pay for it. And she didn't have much on her at the moment. She could hear the old man already. She growled a bit mostly at herself. Ah and the stories she could tell about what she first did upon getting to this place. Yeah somehow bringing down a tower was the PERFECT way to get noticed. Not by her charms or looks. But by bringing down a WHOLE FREAKIN TOWER! This mess probably wasn't going to go away as quickly as she hoped it would...more then likely she was spotted already since the people were calling out to her. She muttered to herself as she crawled away to stay hidden. "I can hear it now...'Oh look! It's the woman that brought down the tower!'" She snorted and made her way from the mess she caused. An open door caught her attention as she backed away and went to slip inside. She could explore then and get a look around...and try to put some distance between her and the now broken tower. Seems like they would have maintained that thing. It was to rusted it broken from her weight. And she didn't weigh that much.

As Nina crawled forth from the rubble, one of men spotted her. "HEY! GET BACK HERE!" One tried to grab her arm but failed as she easily slipped through his fingers. There were shouts of someone to stop her, giving chase as she inadvertently ran into the Tops casino. Charles with minor amusement watched as woman ran past him, shaking his head a little.
"Wonder what's got her in a hurry?"
It was about then the men who chased after Nina ran into Charles as well. "Boss! Boss! You spy some red head pass by here?" "I'm color blind remember? I can't tell if a woman was red-haired or not, but a woman did run past and looked like she was in a hurry. Why?" "Boss! She's the one who broke the tower!" "WHAT?! WHY DIDN'T YOU STOP HER?!" "She had a good lead ahead of us Boss!" Charles joined in the chase as well, following the direction he had spied the woman run. She couldn't have gotten far. As she ran by the man she got a quick look at him. A grin on her face til she heard the shouting as she speed up her pace and looked around for which ever direction would be the exit. She laughed and a big smile on her face. Not like they would hurt her for this...but she found it to be exciting and fun as she searched for the way out...or a place to hide. She slipped into a room and listened for her pursuers. "Well this is kinda stupid..." She stopped and sighed. They would just hunt her down anyway...might as well get this scolding over with. She flinched though thinking of the punishment they might dish out...She really didn't have that much money on her. She ran a hand through her hair wondering what to do...for once she kinda wished the old man was here...briefly though. She looked about the room and sat in the chair. She'd let them come find her.

She had to be here somewhere! He begun to realize he should have specified to sticking to the first few floors as after all, she couldn't have possible gone up to the top floor of the casino without someone commenting on seeing a red-haired woman rushing by. With that in mind, he began his own search, scouring the the private rooms he rented out for parties and the like on the first floor while a few others looked in the casino and another in the Ace Theater that doubled as their bar. So far, no one had spied her and they stopped nearly every red-haired woman they came into contact with. It was late in the afternoon when he put his search on hold when it came time to count the number of caps earned so far for the day.
He had turned the door to his office located on the first floor and paused when he spied his chair spinning around and around in place. Charles tilted his head a little in confusion as he shut the door behind him and recognition dawned on his face when he spied it was the woman everyone was looking for and the one he had spied run past him earlier.
"Well, well. If it isn't the one who broke my tower. What are you doing hiding in here? I thought you would have fled from here by now."
He teased, a small smile sliding into place. As upset as he was over the tower, the cost of repairing it in the near future and that it was an embarrassing event, he couldn't stay too mad at her. Surely it was an accident? "Everyone is looking for you ya know. But you can stay here with me if you wish. I won't tell anyone." [/blockquote][/blockquote] CREDIT SAM !? of Confronting the Faceless. Nina grumbled a bit to herself as her eyes watched the ceiling spin slowly a hand on her shoulder. Seemed that a part of the metal had put a small gash on her upper arm. It could have been worse though. She was grateful the thing hadn't squished her. She perked hearing a voice and blinked turning her head to watch him before stopping the chair from it's spin. She chuckled sheepishly tugging at her bangs. A habit she did when she was either embarrassed or uncomfortable with the situation. "Yeah I broke it. Should really do something about the rust on that thing. I know I don't weigh THAT much. It's what I get for wanting to get a good look around. I didn't clear out of here cause...what am I? Five years old? Am I gonna go hide under a bed after I broke a lamp?" Nina laughed a bit before she looked him over now that she could get a better look at him. Handsome man that was for sure. Scruffy face and...seemed he was dressed quite well. But it was more the smile that was on his face that kinda threw her a bit. Out of all the reactions she was sure smiling wouldn't be one of them...yet there he stood with one. She grinned a bit and relaxing a bit more. "Oh my. I arrive here and already I have people chasing after me! What is a girl to to with being so popular?" She sighing folding her arms on the desk with her head on them. Right now it wasn't the breaking of the tower that embarrassed her. It was the fact that she ran away...like a little kid surly she could act more mature then that. First impressions were everything to her and she was sure he didn't have a very high one of her at this moment. She sat back up leaning back in the chair and ran a hand through her hair. "Well...it's rather nice you won't tell anyone but. I have a feeling I'm gonna have to pay for the damage right? I don't have a lot on me right now. Put it on my tab under Nina Fueller will ya handsome?" She grinned and gave a playful wink.

"Yeah, well they don't have a lot 'remove rust' options out here so we make do with what we got. And what's wrong with hiding under a bed hmm? It helps you avoid getting out of trouble for a while longer don't you think so?"
So far, she was certainly proving to be amusing and things seemed to be off to a good start despite her earlier actions. "I mean, you crawled atop the tower like....like...." He paused for a moment in thought as to what would climb around like she did. Certainly not cazadores, deathclaws or radscorps. So perhaps... "A gecko I guess. I hear in the olden times they were a lot smaller and climb up buildings and stuff. So that's what you are. A curious gecko." Charles had to laugh at his own comment. He laughed again at her popularity comment and shook his head. "Lie low for a while and hope no one notices?" He took the opportunity to move closer to her when she placed her head on the desk atop her arms, sitting on the desk near her and glancing down at her. He continued to watch her curiously as she sat back up and stated she had little funds to pay off the debt. Charles pressed his lips together in thought before he shrugged and his smile only grew when she winked at him. "Well my little trouble maker, that can easily be fixed. You do some work for me until it's paid off. If I like the work you do while carrying out my tasks, I'll hire you permanently. Nina laughed grinning. Yeah it was kinda hard to get rid of rusty. It was everywhere. But again it held a bit of beauty to it if one were to look hard enough. She blinked and looked at him she usually thought that way too. Delaying something to avoid getting in trouble at that moment...but this time it would just look even more childish. "Well...look at this way. I can help you gain a NEW shiny sign. As for hiding UNDER the bed...I'd rather..." She scoffed at herself before standing up. She could keep those playful remarks until she was more familiar with this person. It was just in her nature to flirt of course. She giggled a bit at the gecko comment. "Well climbing things certainly comes in handy for quick escapes don't you think? Seven foot wall? Easily scaled if you get your footing right. Curious gecko..." She cocked her head and nodded. She could picture that. She walked about the office now getting a look around glancing curiously at things before turning to him again. "We just met and I got a nickname already. Lie low you say? I'm more of a up front and center kinda girl..." She paused when he said she could do work for him before he considered maybe hiring her. She perked a bit and inched a bit closer "Y-you'd really do that? Well paying you back makes sense. But it will certainly be of big help to me. I just LITERALLY got to this area. This will certainly take a load off my chest...Mr...." She chuckled a bit. Then it occurred to her she didn't know this man's name. So she looked at him asking him with a look for his name.

Oh lord. She left herself open and Charles couldn't help himself but finish that train of thought for her. "Be in it you mean?"
He replied with a playful growl and pressed lips in a mock kiss and bit his bottom lip. "Why we've just met and you're giving me such a generous offer. My, my. What am I to do with you?" In a way, he felt horrible as he was already a taken man. He raised an eyebrow a little when she rose to her feet and listened to her speak. "Sounds like you got a good idea what you're doing." What could he do with such a skill? Well, he was positive he'd find a way and a use for it. He just didn't know how at the moment. "As for being a front and center kind of girl, I can certainly find something that matches that. We here at the Tops offer a wide variety of jobs here and I'm sure we can find you something you'll enjoy. In more ways than one." He had to refrain so very hard from another much more worse comment that bubbled in his mind from her words. It didn't help that she inched closer. "Yes. Really. I'm not one to turn away a worker when I see one. That and you need help and we at the Tops help those in need." He nodded as he spoke, quite proud of himself. "It's Charles. Charles Starkweather. Most call me Boss but some call me by other names." He shrugged. "So long as it's not poking fun at me, I usually respond to them." [/blockquote][/blockquote] CREDIT SAM !? of Confronting the Faceless. He took the bait and finished the answer. Inside Nina was quite delighted. She loved flirting and he was gonna indulge her in that. This was gonna be fun. He wasn't stuffy. She grinned widely and chuckled. "I'll let you read into that as you will. It maybe implying or it may just be a jest a simple flirt." Nina nodded her head. So she decided that she'd take this as like a job interview and fill him in on some of the things she use to do in her hometown. "Well I use to be a runner. A message delivery person. You know, when the regular mailing system couldn't be trusted. So freerunner of sorts. We'll I'm content with being behind the scenes or around a lot of people. After all, if you are giving me the chance the least I can do is be flexible for you." She smirked here before listening to him introduce himself. From his tone he used he sounded proud. So she decided to see what inflating his ego would do. Of course she enjoyed the ego strokes herself being a bit vain. "Oh! I guess I should have picked up on such a well dressed handsome man would be the top brass. Are you in charge of all this?" She nodded finally getting a name from him...She could call him Chuck but Nina being Nina she'd think of a nickname to give him that was unique to him. She moved closer and put her hand out. "Then it is nice to meet ya Charles Starkweather. As I said, call me Nina Fueller. Hmm I guess I could tell you my talents...or I can show you." She winked. What she was really talking about was her sticky fingers and thief ability but as always she would push someone to see what would happen.

Seriously. What was he going to do with her? He couldn't flirt like this forever. Perhaps now and then, but he had someone else to think about now and he didn't want to lose her so easily because made her feel inadequate because he flirted with someone else. He listened to her list jobs she used to do back from wherever she came from and he nodded now and then as she spoke. "Wow. You certainly are flexible. I'll have you fill in the gaps then. We do need a personal runner to carry our messages so when your not busy filling in gaps, I'll probably send you out to run messages."
Charles smiled widely at the praise. "Well I can't blame you entirely as there are rather some handsome men about dressed up as nicely as I am. But you are right, I am much more handsome and I do have that great flair of style." He chuckled. He took her offered hand and shook it. "We are off to a great start of a beautiful relationship here Nina. I admit, you've got my curiosity piqued, so go ahead and show me." Charles had to wonder if he crossed the the fine line here. She grinned and nodded her head. Nina could be quite versatile...at least when it came to running or being quick...fighting? Not so much, though she would try and bluff her way out of a situation...which usually ends up with her opponent laughing at her. "That would be fine. It would help me get a good idea of the area as well. It would be like getting two things complete in one go." She watched him closely and smirked to herself briefly. So it seemed praises worked quite well on him as she took his hand to shake it. Judging from how they felt...soft yet those of a hard worker. Nina had no interest in hooking up with anyone. She was a wild woman after all with an un-tamed heart. Though with this she was just pushing to see how long it would take him til he pushed her away...since they were strangers. She winked and walked a bit closer to him smiling looking into his eyes with her orange eyes. "I already showed you my skills and you don't even know it Mr. Starkweather." She purred smoothly and held up something from his pocket as she chuckled and held it back out to him stepping back to a respectable distance again.

"Excellent! But ah....I have one last question Nina and I don't mean to be rude or offend here, but did you travel with any loved ones or friends? It would be rude to not give them a place neither and the only reason I'm asking is some who travel here to Vegas from elsewhere usually do and rarely do they travel alone."
Those who did were tough or usually ended up making a friend along their travels. People were hardly alone these days. The only way someone would be alone would be because they were a total jerk. He shied away a little when she walked closer, blinking a little. He had opened his mouth to finally admit to her that he was a taken man when she held up his lucky chip he held in his coat pocket on him at all times. It was a normal chip that could be found anywhere within the Tops but this one was different to him. It was the first chip he had when Swank and Benny let him into the inner circle and from then on, things skyrocketed upwards for him. He snatched it from her, a little upset she had taken it but at the same time was pleased she had returned it. Charles hastily stuffed back into his pocket. "That, my dear Nina, is way more useful than being a messenger. Why with you, I can steal the plans of my rival casino owners and the like. Nina....this is a game changer. I've got so many plans now in mind with what to do with you and I don't even know where to begin." It was then he was reminded to tell her the one small fact he had left out so far. "And uh....as much as I've enjoyed this flirting with you Nina, we gotta keep it a little professional from now on. I....I ah, recently got into a relationship with a girl and as much fun as I had with flirting with you, for her sake, we need to keep it like that ya know?" He had to admit, he felt a little bad. Nina thought of the old man and gave a thought to leaving him out of it...but she didn't have it in her to be that cruel...She sighed nodding her head and mumbled. "Yeah...and old man was with me. He tends to be over bearing...sooo maybe this job you give me I can get a break from him. He's not a relative but he can be a real killjoy..." She chuckled a bit. She may not like the way he acts like her guard...but in her own way she had a bit of fondness for him. It was small though...tiny even. Though he has helped her out in a lot of situations she got into. In a way she sensed that there was something about that chip. Judging from the way he took it back from her. She perked to hear her skills would come in handy. "Oh I'd gladly do as you'd like me to. For you to give me a place to stay and a job to earn some cash? Yes, I'd repay you with my services. I'm quite grateful." She smiled running a hand through her hair going into a grin. She was being honest here and in a way his words of her skills coming in handy kinda inflated her own ego. She cocked her head at him a bit sad. Ah he had someone. Even as much as Nina enjoyed flirting she wasn't one to break up couples so she nodded her head quickly bouncing back with a grin. As he got to know her more, he'd learn of her ability to bounce back to her happy self almost instantly. "I can respect that. If I had know sooner then I'm not sure I'd have shown you my thieving skills. I had my fun so like I said. Thank you for giving me the chance. I'll do what I can to make sure I stand up to your praise."
